The Brief

As an existing customer the brief was reasonably simple; to redesign the site with a responsive design.

Over the previous three years since the original website went live, there had been a few additional features added to the site and now that it was going to be redesigned, the customer took to opportunity to add a number of other features. These included the ability to add an unlimited number of deals, together with the ability to be able to filter search results in more detail than was previously available.

To save any double handling, part of the brief was to ensure all of the information on the existing website was transferred across to the new website, along with the search engine 'link juice' that had been built up since its initial launch.

The design was to look fresh and modern, whilst still reflecting the company's corporate identity to ensure continuity for returning customers. Other than that we were free to put forward any design concepts we felt suited the target market.

How We Responded

Taking inspiration from the '360' in the name, and from the idea of panoramic views on a golf-course, the initial concept of the site revolved quite literally around the idea of a '360-carousel', whereby a user could immediately sweep through various properties and golf courses in an interactive and immersive way.

Following through this innovative navigation method, we also including the ability to navigate golf-courses by an integrated mapping software, with property/course clustering, meaning that when a user is viewing the map at a country-wide level, they can view numbers of properties per region and – when they 'zoom in' to a region – can find individual properties by panning and orienteering around the map.

Along with traditional methods of searching via web forms and browsing results, users on the site where provided various, non-conflicting methods for finding golf courses and hotels in a way that suited them, being able to refine how they searched depending on what was important to them, whether that be location, price or various other filters.

The website includes real-time instant messenger chat with representatives, as well as individual property/course enquiries, with calendar-based date pickers, meaning that booking and enquiry processes are as easy and fluid as possible, both for the client and website visitors alike.
