GT Towing supply towbars, trailers and caravans as well as a number of related products such as bike racks, roof racks and a whole host of accessories.
When GT Towing first approached us they had a number of individual websites set up for each of the key products and services they offer.
As the websites were relatively dated, none of them features a responsive (mobile friendly) structure, and only one of the four sites featured a content management system, making it a more difficult and time consuming for them to update the sites.
GT Towing were keen to get all their websites under one main domain name, but wanted to ensure navigation to each of the key services and products was simple for their wide demographic of customers.
The key features required for the website were: an online shop to sell accessories, the ability to display and sell trailers, caravans roof racks and towbars, and a system for people to be able to hire trailers and roof racks.
We started by collating information about all the existing websites and what they offered. This process allowed us to consider how best to amalgamate all the required information, features and products into one website.
We grouped the various features and products in to an intuitive top level navigation menu which covered all of the services offered in the GT Towing range. The design of the home page featured further graphical links to the key navigation sections.
To assist website visitors in finding the right product for them, we developed a filtering system, unique to each of the individual ‘new’ trailer and caravan sales pages of the site. The general online shop area of the website features a predictive search facility with an additional sorting filter showing prices ‘highest to lowest’ etc.
We also developed a booking system to allow customers to hire a wide choice of trailers, which calculates a price based on the chosen trailer, and the dates and times the customer want to book the trailer for.
