Browser race heats up

The browser market share is more diverse than ever with Google Chrome now slowly creeping up to that of Firefox at 24% of worldwide market share. IE is still holding a steady 54% according to web statistics. It should be noted that usage of the various web browsers can vary from country to country. In the UK the adoption of Chrome seems to be almost on par with Firefox.

Looking at our own statistics packages at AWD, we often find that it varies depending on the industry the customer is in. Technology based sites quite obviously do see a spike in usage of alternate browsers such as Chrome or Firefox. Personally, AWD are Firefox users, however we do know some of our customers are taking up the Google route as their choice.

2012 will be an interesting year with the various HTML5 and jQuery technology pushing forward even further. We are looking forward to seeing just how each performs with the latest technology.
