Domain Name Registration
|
A domain name is the name that people will use to find your web site. This should where possible be the same as your business name ie: www.tesco.com.
There are then numerous types of ending that can be registered for each domain name, the two most common in the UK are:
.co.uk - recommended for companies trading within the UK.
.com - recommended for companies trading on an international level or who's web site contains information relevant to the rest of the world.
Other options to consider include .net, .org , .org.uk and .ltd.uk
Domain names registration is for a period of 2 years with the option to renew. |

Web Space
 |
Rather like the memory on a computer, web space is an amount of memory on the Internet specifically dedicated to holding your web site's information. Web space is sold in various amounts to suit the size of your web site. Should you decide to expand your site at any stage, more space can then be purchased.
As with the domain names, web space is sold for periods of 2 years with the option to renew.

Website Design
 |
Clients can have as much or as little input into the visual design of the web site as they please as each site is designed specifically for that client, therefore ensuring a totally bespoke service.
Where businesses already have a recognised corporate image, we ensure that image is reflected in the design of the web site by work with any colour schemes, logos and fonts the business uses.
If the company is new or does not have any particular identity we can help design logos and choose colour schemes and font styles to help create a corporate image.
'Brochure' or 'E-commerce'
The 'Brochure' or 'Shop Front' style web site is the most common of the two categories. As the name suggests, it is essentially an on-line brochure that is used to provide inform about your business and its products or services to existing and potential customers.
The second category, 'E-commerce' essentially means electronic commerce which translates to selling on-line via the internet. For business with products that can be or are sold via mail order directly to the end user, or for business to business sales, an E-commerce web site should be seriously considered as an additional sales tool. |

Website Construction
 |
Once the design concept of the web site has been agreed, the construction of site is then carried out. It is fully constructed in house at Advanced Web Designs using a combination of programme coding and leading design software such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and Photoshop.
The number of pages that make up the web site, and the amount and type of information to be included on each determines the time it will take to construct the web site. |

|
Upload
 |
Once the web site has been constructed it is ready for publication on the World Wide Web. This is done via a file transfer process from our computers to your previously registered web space in your domain name. |

Search Engine Submission
 |
Once your web site is up on the Internet there are a number of ways to drive traffic to it (encourage visitors). It is a good idea to market your website by ensuring the website address appears on your stationery, in any advertising you place, and on any company promotional material such as signs and clothing.
It is also just as important to be registered on search engines. Search engines are methods of searching the entire Internet for websites relevant to your specific requirement. For example, if you want to find web sites that specialise in golf you would enter the word 'golf' into your favoured search engine. This will then carry out a search of the entire Internet for web sites about golf. We can help get you to the high positions in many of the leading search engines including Google, MSN, AOL, Hotbot, Lycos, Ask Geeves and AltaVista. |

 |
An e-mail (electronic mail) address is a method in which you can send and receive information via the Internet. If you have a computer with Internet access the chances are you'll probably already have an e-mail address.
E-mail addresses also come free with domain name registration, for example if you registered the domain name 'www.home.com' you could have an e-mail address of yourname@home.com ie: Richard @home.com.

Website Statistics
 |
In order to keep an eye on how well your web site is working for you it is possible to get very detailed statistics and information about the visitors to your web site. Each separate visit is known as a "Hit", and information on the number of hits, monthly daily or hourly can be requested.
The statistics also tell you which pages of you web site are being visited the most giving you an idea of what people are looking for when hitting your site. In total we supply you with over 20 - A4 pages of statistics relating to your web site.

CD Replication
 |
We at Advanced Web Designs Limited are aware that, in certain circumstances, for example when visiting a new customer or at an exhibition, it is important to provide something other then just a web site address.
We therefore offer a CD copying service enabling your web site to be given out as a hard copy. We have found that the curiosity value means that people are far more likely to view the contents of a CD picked up at an exhibition then they are a printed brochure, and in most circumstances CD copies work out cheaper per unit then printed brochures.
